funny the spambots should bring this one up.

I'm currently working on a project relating to this.

I am hooking up my Wii Guitar Hero guitar to my laptop, via bluetooth, and then using GlovePIE to convert them to MIDI singals. I am then planning on using a language/IDE called Processing to intercept them MIDI signals, and process them in such a way that it does something fancy. I was thinking just some basic tab being displayed on screen.

Also, using Processing, I am then going to output the MIDI to another piece of software, possibly Native Instruments Massive, which can convert the MIDI to actualy sounds. So I can have someone playing the Wii Guitar and having an actual electric guitar sound coming out of the speakers, depending on the "chord" they press.

So far, I've got the guitar playing the noise, but not through processing. I'm going straight to Massive. I've only about 3 weeks to do it so its gonna be a tight deadline!

Incidentally, has anyone seen that new game RockSmith?

Its basically Guitar Hero with a real electric guitar. Definitely gonna get it, since u can hook up ur own real guiter to it!! And it actually teaches u songs, instead of GREEN, BLUE, BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN....etc!!

PS, its out in North America only. It was delayed in Europer because an English band called RockSmith are suing UbiSoft for copyright or trademark infringement or something.
