I've gotten about a 1000 new spam sign ups in the last couple of days. I can only assume that the previous version of this sites software got hacked in some way. Even with my anti-spam measures in place, bots were still able to register!
Anyway, I've updated the site software. I havent been able to check if everything is working or not, so let me know if you find any errors.

Re: Increase in spam
Ye its shocking! I need to change something in the sign up page. I can probably get a plugin to add an extra little "human verification" check.
I have time to do that now since I FINISHED MY EXAMS!!!!!!

Re: Increase in spam
Ye you seriously need to, I spent ages deleting all that crap!!
Re: Increase in spam
I just delete the user. You can set it to delete all their posts as well. Handiest way.
I've changed the security question on registration now anyway. Just found out theres a newer version of the site software released the other day as well! bugger that! It takes probably a full solid day of work to upgrade and add in the portal! I still havent added back i nthe sudoku or the arcade games section from the last upgrade!!

Re: Increase in spam
Do I have the powers to delete someone???!
Re: Increase in spam
lol i dunno, do ya?
Try go into that "What music do you listen to" thread and click on the last person to post. Click their username and see if theres a link to "Administrate User". If there is, you should be able to go down the bottom of the Administration page and delete them.
